Background: Born in a country without mountains, Steffan’s first contact with winter sports was in Oberstdorf (GER) at the age of 3. Ski racing came on his path when he was 9 and since that moment the journey began. With multiple national youth titles he joined the national team in 2008. Beside his full time job as a skier, Steffan started studying Advanced Technology at the University Of Twente in 2011 to secure a career after skiing as well. A broken ACL forced him to sit on the sidelines in the 2013/2014 season and he didn’t ski in the 2015/2016 season. He has found his way back up, skiing better than he ever did before.
