Background: Maarten started skiing on the plastic dry slope in the Netherlands when he was 5 years old before going on skiing holiday in Adelboden, Switzerland. He joined Skiclub ‘De Wolfskamer’ and started training with them in the Netherlands and in Austria. Additionally he joined private training in Ramsau am Dachstein with Austrian coaches before joining the Dutch National Ski Team in 2008. In the following years Maarten developed to a professional athlete and raced multiple World Championships with 20th place as personal best result and top 10 results in World Junior Championships and European Cup races. After training together with the German National Ski Team for 3 years, Maarten is now ready to make the next step in his career with Global Racing.

-1st place Slovenian National Championships Giant Slalom 2018
-2nd place Universiade Combined Almaty 2017
-20th place World Championships Combined Schladming 2013
-10th place World Junior Championships Giant Slalom Quebec 2013
